BoxPlayer

Quick start

You do not need to connect every service on day one. Start with the source you use most often, verify a complete playback flow, then add more drives, NAS shares, or media servers gradually.

1.Install and open BoxPlayer

Choose the installer for your system and processor on the official download page. On a phone, use Home to browse media, Files to open sources, and Settings to manage the app. TV navigation uses the remote.

2.Add your first file source

On iPhone, open Settings → Add File Source. Choose a cloud drive, network share, or media server, then complete the corresponding authorization. On other clients, use the available source-add control. TV clients do not offer Add Local Folder.

Add File Source: cloud drives, media servers, and network shares

3.Open a folder and play one video

Open the saved source and browse to a small movie folder. Play a known video to confirm that the source is readable. A successful sign-in alone does not prove that a file will play.

4.Favorite media and personalize playback

Favorite the folder if you want poster browsing and indexing. Open a title, choose an audio track or subtitle, and exit normally so you can return through Continue Watching. Configure cross-device sync separately if needed.

Before you finish

  • A matching BoxPlayer build is installed
  • At least one source opens normally
  • One title has been played successfully
