How cross-device sync works
Signing in, restoring purchases, authorizing a source, and syncing watch history are separate operations. Choose the sync service supported by both devices.
1.Identify the data to sync
Decide whether you need watch history, source settings, or purchase access. A BoxPlayer account does not guarantee that every data type syncs across every platform.
2.Choose a supported sync method
Apple clients provide iCloud options; Trakt provides supported watch-data features where exposed. Use sync or transfer options actually available in both installed clients.
3.Authorize the source separately
Each device must still reach the same media and have valid source authorization. A server’s account and watch history can be separate from app sync.
4.Check one record
Play one known title, exit normally, and check the other device after syncing. Note the account, service, title, and time before changing configuration.
Before you finish
- Both clients support the selected method
- The same source is reachable on both devices
- One supported record syncs correctly
