Correct metadata and posters
Incorrect metadata usually comes from identical titles, missing years, or unclear season and episode names. Correct a few examples first, verify them, and only then continue through the folder.
1.Check the file behind the poster
Open the title or file information and compare the source path, year, and season or episode with the actual content. Similar movie names and remakes need the release year to distinguish them.
2.Decide what needs correcting
If the filename is unclear, use a pattern such as Movie (2024).mkv or Show.S01E01.mkv. Renaming changes the source file; metadata correction changes its library association. Choose the action that matches the problem.
3.Choose the correct match
Open the available metadata, identify, or matching action in the title menu. Search for the correct name and year, select the result, then check its poster, synopsis, and linked playback file. Client labels may differ.
4.Refresh and review the changed item
Refresh the affected item or folder. Confirm that the selected title and episode are retained before continuing with other items. Leave an uncertain title unmatched rather than selecting a different work.
Before you finish
- Titles include the needed year or episode information
- The matched poster and description are correct
- Only confirmed items were changed
